Beshasha, Ethiopia

From the Agaro area of the Jimma zone in western Ethiopia: one of the country's most established growing regions. The varietals here are 74110, 74112, and Heirloom. The first two were selected by the Jimma Agricultural Research Centre in 1974 from wild forest trees, chosen for their resilience and outstanding cup quality. The heirloom component is exactly what it sounds like, ancient indigenous Ethiopian genetics
that nobody has tried to improve on, because there's no need... That’s the definition of ‘badass’

Washed. Sorted, depulped, fermented, and carefully dried. The process strips everything back to what the bean actually is, and with Beshasha, that equals very, very good.

Now as this coffee is just too good, we couldn’t put it in a bag labelled just ‘Espresso’ or ‘Filter’ - so it got the badge ‘Omni’, meaning this coffee is great as both, seriously, as a filter it’s delicate and fruity with its lemon notes, while as an espresso it holds its own with its Dark Chocolate body yet subtle sweet notes of peach. Don’t sleep on this one.
