Origin Story

This lot is the work of Norman Mukuru and his team at The Coffee Yard, a central hub for receiving and drying coffee from the districts of Sironko, Mbale, Bulambuli, and Kapchorwa.

Norman brings nearly 20 years of experience and has specialized in naturals since 2018, refining his methods to achieve nuanced cup profiles.

Quality is overseen by Maria Kirya, whose expertise in blind cupping ensures consistency and customer satisfaction.

The microlot was named by combining the names of the team, Norman Mukuru and Maria Kirya.

The Process

Muki Fruity is a naturally processed Arabica coffee grown in the fertile soils of Uganda’s Mount Elgon region. At altitudes of 1,800–2,100 meters, the cherries develop vibrant tropical flavors, with this microlot offering notes of mango, cherry liqueur and tamarind, complemented by a winey acidity.
